St. Macartan’s is a premier 33 bed nursing care home, fitted with highly specialised care equipment, lifts, hoists, chairs and custom installed bedroom, washroom and toilet facilities. At St. Macartan’s we care, help, and support for our residents while preserving their dignity and enabling them to live their twilight years in maximum comfort and happiness. We are staffed by a structured and experienced management team which include nurses, care assistants, caterers, and laundry personnel delivering compassionate and quality care 24 hours a day.
The building is a magnificent Georgian house with palatial interior, set in extensive grounds and gardens, located in the centre of the small rural town of Clogher, Co Tyrone.
The management of St Macartan’s have put in place the very best layout, equipment, and services for the convenience of patients and to maximise comfort and ease of use for all.
The home is registered with the Southern and Western Health and Social Care Trust. We are also regulated by the Regulatory, Quality and Improvement Authority (RQIA) and regular inspections are carried out. Referrals to the home can be made through Social Services or privately.
We have 2 beautifully appointed sitting rooms that provide excellent space for socialising and visiting. The residents can enjoy quiet areas where they can meet with friends and family.
We have a 9-bed dementia unit. The Kilmorey Unit has a conservatory and access to outside gardens and patio areas. This small self-contained unit allows for care to be delivered on a one-to-one basis by staff who are experienced and who have received specialised training in Dementia Care.
The Chapel is used on a multi-denominational basis, with regular visits from ministers of all faith groups. The chapel brings a serenity to the home that would be very hard to equal.
Our activities are provided throughout the week by our trained activities coordinator. Our activities aim to stimulate our residents and provide a social outlet. All activities cater for all faiths and denominations
